We’ve been working with the team at Labyrinth Events since 2021 – delivering a vast range of festivals and events in London and further afield. On this occasion, our partnership took us back to the beautiful Bedfordshire countryside, to deliver Labyrinth Open Air at Tofte Manor.
Across three live shows, the festival invites renowned acts to perform at the unique estate, with this year’s line-up including electronic heavyweights Boris Brejcha and Argy, an extended set from Sasha & John Digweed, and the iconic Madness.
Building on the success of previous years, our role was to ensure the event remained not only magical but also safe and compliant. OPS took care of operations and safety from planning through to delivery, while our colleagues at The Fair handled all things event production.
Extreme weather: With soaring summer temperatures during both the build and live days, we had to continuously monitor on-site water levels. When supplies dropped, we were ready with contingency plans to ensure hydration was always available.
Diverse crowd demographics: Each show attracted a very different audience profile. Our security and stewarding teams were briefed accordingly – from providing deck chairs for older attendees to managing high-energy electronic music crowds.
Accessibility: This remained a key focus. We expanded provision with additional seating areas and accessible viewing platforms, ensuring everyone could enjoy the event.
Dynamic egress management: Egress planning required real-time adjustments. When more guests than expected used the car park, we reallocated staff deployment to manage traffic flow effectively. Daily evening meetings with heads of department ensured travel routes and crowd movements were reviewed and adapted as needed.
