Event Health & Safety: The Play-Offs at Brent Cross Town

Background

Brent Cross Town enlisted We Are OPS to provide end-to-end safety and licensing support for a community-focused, family-friendly weekend of competitive socialising at Exploratory Park, Brent Cross Town Centre, on 13–14 September 2025. Though this was our first direct collaboration with Brent Cross Town (BXS), they are affiliated with Related Argent, a longstanding client we’ve supported across multiple events.

OPS were brought in to lead operational safety from early planning through to break, working alongside We Are Placemaking, who produced the event. The activation was part of the evolving Brent Cross Town vision — a growing destination for wellness and play in North London.

Delivery

  • Delivered operational support across advance planning, build, live, and break
  • Secured a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) for compliant delivery
  • Developed and submitted a robust Event Safety Management Plan (ESMP)
  • Provided an experienced on-site Event Safety Advisor throughout the weekend
  • Conducted supplier audits to ensure safety compliance across delivery partners
  • Oversaw sign-off on all temporary structures prior to public opening
  • Advised on site layout and capacity in the early stages
  • Collaborated closely with We Are Placemaking to ensure all operational elements aligned with creative delivery

Results

  • Approx. 1,000 attendees across the weekend
  • Positive response from attendees and stakeholders
  • Contributed to the wider Brent Cross Town placemaking strategy
  • Continued relationship development with Brent Cross Town and Related Argent, with further conversations underway
