Festival Health and Safety: Maiden Voyage

Background

Since 2022, We Are Ops have been dedicated to partnering with Maiden Voyage, where we provide crucial guidance on festival health and safety. Our team works closely with festival organisers to ensure we create a secure environment for performers and attendees. This partnership reflects our commitment to fostering successful events, prioritising the well-being of everyone involved while enhancing the overall experience of the festival.

The festival took place on September 14th in Burgess Park, featuring an exciting lineup of artists, including Arca, Jayda G, Mall Grab, Palms Trax, and Hunee. Our collaboration played a crucial role in ensuring the event’s success, allowing attendees to enjoy a safe and vibrant atmosphere.

Challenges

  • We worked to accommodate an increased capacity at Burgess Park by effectively managing ingress and egress.
  • To address the challenge of audience members unexpectedly arriving simultaneously, we focused on managing queues while ensuring that pathways remained open to the general public. The queue was consistently moving, and we prioritised maintaining positive spirits among attendees whilst they waited.
  • With the addition of two extra stages, we ensured that the infrastructure was set up safely while also managing the crowd effectively.
