Working with London Heritage Quarter (LHQ), Pride in the Quarter transformed the streets of Westminster into an open-air gallery featuring 17 individually designed lion and lioness sculptures.

The free public art trail was created to celebrate community, creativity and inclusion, encouraging residents, workers and visitors to explore Westminster while supporting local businesses. Each sculpture was designed by a different artist, celebrating stories of football, heritage, diversity and the communities that make central London unique.

The trail was inspired by the England national team’s iconic ‘Three Lions’ emblem, and the near-life-sized sculptures have been designed by a range of artists, each telling a different tale. From the rise of women’s football to pioneers who helped shape the country as we know it, each artwork comes with a descriptive plaque and QR code linking to further information about the story that it celebrates.

Working alongside We Are Placemaking, We Are OPS supported the operational delivery of the trail across multiple Westminster locations, managing Health & Safety planning, logistics and installation management.

With 17 individual installations positioned across busy public spaces, careful operational planning was essential. Our role was to help turn the creative concept into a safe, accessible and successfully delivered public realm activation. At the end of the trail, the sculptures are set to be auctioned to raise funds for The Passage, supporting people experiencing homelessness.
