Health & Safety: Limitless

Background

Limitless is a summer gathering for the church community, featuring a range of venues for youths and young adults, and a packed programme of activities, sports, events, seminars and workshops. Taking place over five days, 2022 saw a new venue at Staffordshire Showground. In addition to writing event documentation, We Are OPS were tasked with the supplier audit as well as providing an on-site Safety Advisor for the final day of build and the opening day of the live event.

Challenges

• In the lead up to the event, late engagement of some suppliers and contractors meant close co-operation between the Safety Advisor and the clients Production Team was paramount in ensuring all health and safety documentation was obtained and audited prior to arrival on site.

• The main stage, video screens, AV and audio were all built and in use for soundchecks prior to the arrival of the Safety Advisor. Working closely with a senior member of the Production Team who liaised with the contractor meant the relevant sign offs could be obtained promptly.

• Building a good working relationship with staff from the Staffordshire Showground in quick time, ensuring that any issues involving their permanent infrastructure could be managed effectively and to the benefit of all interested parties.
