Operations and Health & Safety: In It Together

Background

In It Together is “a festival, a community, and a celebration of music, arts and culture” taking place at Old Park Farm, Margam, Port Talbot.

The festival was conceived by Welsh promoters Climax during the pandemic and was designed to offer Welsh family festival goers something to look forward to once the lockdowns were over.

While the festival only launched in 2022, it is already one of Wales’s largest – offering up to 30,000 festivalgoers four days of music and activities, with the option to camp on site too.

This year, The Kooks, Anne-Marie and James headlined the festival, with other artists including Groove Armada, Chase and Status, UB40, Jake Bugg, The Vamps, and many more.

Having worked with Climax across their portfolio of festivals (Escape, Party At The Park and Inside Out) since 2019, and supporting In It Together in its first year in 2022, OPS was requested to provide H&S and Licensing services again at the event this year.

Challenges

  • The site is bordered on all sides by roads, meaning a typical evacuation would be difficult to manage. OPS’s expertise was therefore essential during the planning phases of the event to ensure that, where needed, a safe and suitable Invacuation Plan could be enacted as a result of a well-executed site plan.

Delivery

  • Event Safety Management Plan

  • Event Risk Assessment

  • Fire Risk Assessment

  • Invacuation/Evacuation Plan
