Background
We Are The Fair’s Health & Safety Team (now OPS) have acted as Event Safety Risk Management Consultants for Grosvenor Property UK (Formerly Grosvenor GBI) since 2016. Grosvenor supports over 1000 businesses in London and own a large portfolio of property across the globe.
OPS provide a huge range of services to Grosvenor through defined work streams":
· Retained Services – including event safety consultancy, local authority liaison, event applications, managing event security providers, maintaining an event and supplier risk profiler, auditing new suppliers, sustainability reporting
· Ground Support - including liaising with Local Authorities on event planning, event safety documentation such as Risk Assessments (RA), Fire Risk Assessments (FRA), Event Safety Management Plans (ESMPs), TEN’s and Premises licenses, the provision of Event Safety Advisors
Challenges
Providing Event Safety Risk Consultancy to one of the most prestigious and risk-averse businesses inherently presents a challenge.
The business has multiple stakeholders working across dozens of different teams and departments. Of these departments, many produce, support, deliver or sponsor a wide array of events and public realm animations.
Events range in complexity, duration and capacity. They can be anything from simple graphic installations to sponsoring prestigious art & sculpture trails, from large scale community festivals & street parties to jazz concerts held in some of London's most famous Garden spaces, from classic car shows to Christmas lights installations and switch-on events.
Supporting Grosvenor with event licensing can be a lengthy, complex and challenging process as some applications relate to open spaces and popular London gardens.
Delivery
Event documentation – ESMP, RA, FRA, Counter-Terrorism Policies, Event Threat RA
Local Authority Permissions – S30, Event Applications, Planning Permissions
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) – ensuring that systems and processes work efficiently for Grosvenor and third-party events.
Review and maintain various notification forms and risk profiling tools to enable us to provide proportionate support to the teams and their events.
